PRINCETON, N.J. ? USRowing and Visit Jacksonville are pleased to announce that the 2014 USRowing Annual Convention will be held December 4-7, 2014, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Held annually, the four-day event includes the Advanced Coaches Conference featuring top U.S. and international coaches; a Business of Rowing seminar and panel discussion with athletic program administrators; coaching certification; referee clinics; and a Junior Day series geared toward rowers and parents, in addition to receptions and local social events.
"USRowing is excited to bring our 2014 Annual Convention to Jacksonville,? said USRowing Events Manager A.J. Dominique. ?The enthusiasm and support from the local rowing and business communities will no doubt add to the overall experience for attendees. We?ve had some great initial discussions with regard to program content, specifically on-the-water sessions and seminars focused on adaptive rowing. We want to highlight some of the innovative work being done in the areas of adaptive rowing, as well as rowing at the junior and collegiate levels.?
The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront will serve as the host hotel. Located on the shore of the St. Johns River in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, attendees will find a variety of entertainment options within walking distance of the hotel.
?This is great news for the city of Jacksonville and the local rowing community that worked so hard to make this the perfect destination for the 2014 USRowing Annual Convention. We are thrilled to welcome this national sports group,? said Paul Astleford, president and CEO of Visit Jacksonville. ?Our vibrant downtown, the Hyatt Jacksonville Riverfront and the St. Johns River will provide the ideal backdrop to their Annual Convention, plus our mild December temperatures will ensure rowers a great time out on the water.?
Jacksonville is home to several rowing organizations including Episcopal School of Jacksonville, Evans Rowing Club, Jacksonville Rowing Club, Jacksonville University Rowing, Jacksonville Youth Rowing Club, Stanton-River Bank Rowing and The Bolles School.
